It's that time of the year again for us to fawn over the showstopping collections at New York Fashion Week. And from the many looks and high-profile designers that made their way into the show, we’ve pegged a few trends from this year's Fall/Winter lineup that we absolutely adored that we could all use as inspiration to amp up our daily outfits.

Psychedelic Vibes

This eye-catching colour palette has made a strong comeback from its glory days in the 70s, appearing in recent fast fashion designs, and of course, experiencing a major upgrade in haute couture. Punchy pinks, bold purples and bright yellow-greens from Prabal Gurung and Coach have made a splash on runways this season and it appears they are here to stay.

Candy Leather

Following in the wake of winter’s end, leather goods in rainbow colours from designers such as Tibi, Sies Marjan and Khaite have slid themselves into circulation and are giving us some major heart-eyes in anticipation for outerwear, accessories and full outfits.

Fluff & Ruffles

Christian Cowan, F/W19 (@nyfw)

Generally a feminine favourite, the designers have brought on their best and boldest ideas this season to give us frothy confections in a stunning mix of colours that’ll make you go, “I want that” as soon as it makes its way into your favourite stores.

Animal Prints

This type of print may not be offering anything new to the table, but the movers and shakers of the fashion world have taken this age-old concept and transformed it into something divine to suit modern tastes. From realistic renditions of leopard and python-prints to inspired versions in bold colours and pastel hues, there’s definitely an animal print rendition that will catch your eye this season.

Feathers

An element that is hard to ignore and yet can be played up or down to suit every occasion, it's no wonder why feathers found their way back into the runway. Preen over the cruelty-free creations of the biggest names in the industry like Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, and Michael Kors and try your best not to get too ruffled, ladies.
